More about me:
Christie Tawari brings a warm, grounded presence to therapy, shaped by both her professional training and her personal life. Christie understands firsthand that parenthood can hold deep love, joy, grief, fear, identity shifts, and overwhelm—all at the same time—and she offers a space where those complex and often unspoken feelings are welcome.
Christie works with individuals (16+) using an integrative, trauma-informed approach that weaves together relational and somatic therapy. She supports clients in slowing down, tuning into their inner and bodily experiences, and cultivating a sense of emotional safety. Her work is especially supportive for those navigating postpartum challenges, birth or NICU-related trauma, and the nervous system impacts of early parenthood. Christie does not rush healing or push for solutions; instead, she walks alongside clients as they make sense of their experiences at a pace that feels respectful and manageable.
At the core of Christie’s work is a belief in our innate capacity for connection and healing, and in the powerful role relationships play in shaping how we understand ourselves. She is deeply attuned to the wisdom of the body and helps clients reconnect with their internal signals as a way to rebuild trust, regulation, and self-compassion. Christie is a Master’s-level counselling student in her second year at Athabasca University, currently practicing under the supervision of Jennifer Grindon. Prior to beginning her Master’s degree, Christie has been involved in the mental health field since 2018, including several years as a crisis line responder supporting individuals in acute distress. She is certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and has specialized training in postpartum mental health, trauma, and Polyvagal Theory.
Outside of the therapy room, Christie is a mom, a lifelong learner, and someone deeply passionate about supporting new parents as they navigate the tender, messy, and meaningful transition into parenthood and postpartum life. Christie is currently accepting new clients and offers affordable counselling options for those facing financial barriers—providing access to thoughtful, compassionate care with an emerging therapist who brings both skill and heart to her work.
